The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section today added a fifth new suspect to its list of Most Wanted Sex Offenders.

Richard F. Fleurant, 79, classified as a Level 3 Sex Offender by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board, is wanted for two counts of failure to register as a sex offender as required by law.

Fleurant was convicted in 1977 for four counts of committing unnatural acts with a child under 16 in connection with multiple incidents that occurred in Weymouth the previous year. Fleurant worked as building superintendent of an apartment complex and victimized teenage boys who frequented the premises. He received a lengthy state prison sentence and is currently in violation of his Lifetime Sex Offender Registration requirements.

Fleurant has additional prior convictions for carrying a machine gun, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, lewd and lascivious behavior, unnatural acts, and disseminating obscene material to a minor.

He is white, 5-foot-9, about 185 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He is possibly homeless and has past ties to Boston, Weymouth, and central Massachusetts.

Anyone who sees Fleurant or has knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to call the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section at 1-800-527-8873 or to call 911.
