Police arrest 14 suspected members of the mafia regime bossed by Italy’s most wanted fugitive Matteo Messina Denaro.

Italian police on Friday arrested 14 suspected members of the mafia family of Cosa Nostra  bossed by Italy’s most wanted  fugitive Matteo Messina Denaro.

The suspects are charged with  Mafia association, extortion, illegal possession of weapons and other offenses made worse by mafia involvment

According to  police,  investigators  were able to document  the structures and hierarchies of the mafia family  of  Marsala and confirm   the  head of the regime is  fugitive  Messina Denaro.

Investigators  also  documented internal stresses like the division of financial resources   and  other matters  which required mediation by elected members

The investigation also involved  interceptions between some affiliates  focusing on violence projects . In one interception,  two Marsala mafiosi were planning to murder  a fruit peddler on orders from  Messina Denaro.

Police  say  ,  although he is a  fugitive for 24 years,  Matteo Messina Denaro  is  still  strong and calls the  shots in the organization
