HOLYOKE — Police say a Level 3 sex offender was arrested in Holyoke on Thursday, less than a day after he was added to the State Police’s most wanted sex offenders list.
According to a release from the State Police, Roberto Jimenez Jr., 35, was in violation of his lifetime sex offender registration and of the conditions of his probation.
The registration and conditions stem from Jimenez’s 2006 conviction for the rape and indecent assault and battery of a 12-year-old boy in Springfield.
In the release, police said that troopers from the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section received information that Jimenez may be inside an apartment on Sergeant Street in Holyoke.
State Police and a Holyoke Police detective went to the apartment Thursday morning. Jimenez was there, as was his brother, Emmanuel Jimenez, who had several outstanding warrants for narcotics possession, motor vehicle offenses and domestic assault and battery. Both men were arrested.
Police say Jimenez was previously on the most wanted list in 2013, stemming from violating his registration requirements.
Holyoke Police and the State Police did not return calls for comment on the arrest.
