The FBI has added a man with ties to Bakersfield to its famed “Ten Most Wanted” list.
Jesus Roberto Munguia is accused of murdering his estranged wife in 2008 in Las Vegas.
The FBI said Munguia is a documented gang member and has connections to Bakersfield and Los Angeles.
There’s now a reward of as much as $100,000 being offered in the case, the FBI announced Monday.
“Munguia has been charged with a violent and brutal murder and kidnapping charge which took a young mother from her 4 children and family,” Aaron C. Rouse, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas Field Office, said in a news release. “Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department did an extraordinary job of investigating this brutal murder and Munguia’s addition to the FBI’s list of ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” will help regenerate public interest. We are optimistic that it will lead to his quick apprehension and finally provide closure for the family.”
Munguia is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should submit a tip online or call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
