TWIN FALLS — A fugitive wanted by Salt Lake City police since 2009 on suspicion of arranging a meeting between a prostitute and an undercover cop was arrested in Twin Falls this week.
Darin Ray Richardson, 50, is being held on a Utah warrant in the Twin Falls County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. Court documents show he was wanted in Utah on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated exploitation of prostitution.
The Salt Lake City Police Department posted a “most wanted” video about Richardson on Youtube more than eight years ago, on April 17, 2009.
A narrator in the video describes Richardson over his mug shot while his physical description and several aliases are listed. Then the narrator lists the crime Richardson was wanted for and gave this description of the charge:
“Darin Ray Richardson is wanted for his involvement in making arrangements for a female to meet an undercover police detective for the purpose of prostitution.”
Online court records show Richardson was also convicted in 2002 in Utah for attempted exploitation of a prostitute.
Richardson appeared Thursday in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court for an initial appearance, where he was assigned a public defender and his bond was set at $50,000, as per the warrant. Court documents listed his home address in Twin Falls.
An extradition hearing is scheduled for May 26.
