Christopher J. Terry, 29, is wanted on a rape warrant.

CANTON  A northeast Canton man has been named to the U.S. Marshals Dangerous Dozen “most wanted” list.

Christopher J. Terry, 29, whose address is listed in Stark County court records as the 1600 block of Shriver Avenue NE, is wanted on a rape warrant.

Capt. David Kurzinsky, who heads the Canton Police Department’s Detective Bureau, said Terry was identified as a suspect after a 26-year-old woman told police that an acquaintance had sexually assaulted her at gunpoint in the 1800 block of Mahoning Road NE about 6 a.m. Dec. 6. Court records show a warrant was issued Dec. 8 for Terry’s arrest.

On Monday, U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott released his agency’s list of the most-wanted fugitives in northern Ohio.

“With internet access, anyone can click on each photo on the flyer and view full wanted posters for each fugitive, which contain larger pictures and more information on the fugitive,” according to a news release from Brian Fitzgibbon of the Northern District of Ohio office. Fugitives and wanted posters can be found on the U.S. Marshals Service website.

According to the wanted poster with Terry’s photo, Terry has ties throughout Canton and New Philadelphia.

The poster also states that everyone on it should be considered dangerous and should not be approached by the general public.

Anyone who knows where Terry can be found is asked to contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 866-4WANTED or text the word WANTED and the tip to TIP411 (847411).

“Tipsters may remain anonymous and cash rewards are available for information leading to the arrest of any of these fugitives,” the poster states.
