An Aryan Nations gang member shot a police officer in Tennessee with a shotgun on Thursday night, and remains on the loose.

Ronnie Lucas Wilson opened fire on Knoxville Officer David Williams as the cop attempted to stop him for speeding, according to Police Chief David Rausch. It is not believed that Williams, who suffered a shoulder wound, fired his weapon.

It is not clear if the gunman was the only person in the car during the attempted traffic stop.

Wilson, 31, was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s top 10 most wanted fugitives list early Friday, and a $2,500 reward is being offered for his arrest. He is being sought on a attempted murder warrant.

“Do not attempt to intervene. Let law enforcement handle this,” Chief Rausch said, according to WKYC. “If he is going to take a shot at an officer, he’s not going to hesitate to shoot at anyone else. So we ask that folks if you see the vehicle, if you know this individual, then do not intervene. Call law enforcement and let us know where he is.”

Investigators recovered the suspect’s car early Friday.

Wilson is listed in a database an Aryan Nations gang member. Facebook photos reveal a large swastika tattoo on his body as well as a Celtic cross with the words “White Pride Worldwide,” according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Rausch said that enforcement agencies across the state are “very familiar” with Wilson. He was given a three-year prison sentence after he was convicted of aggravated burglary in 2011.

Suspected neo-Nazi is charged with terrorism: report

Aryan Nations is the largest white supremacist prison gang in Tennessee with over 700 members, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

“It borrows its name from the older neo-Nazi group of the same name but is a completely separate group,” according to the ADL.

Wilson was convicted of aggravated burglary.

Cops said early Friday that Officer Williams has been released from the hospital.

Anyone with information on Wilson’s whereabouts should call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
